Restaurant Row’s Le Rivage

The other evening a friend and myself went to the French restaurant Le Rivage located at 340 West 46th Street(on Restaurant Row) Street for dinner and to support Mavis Pan ( a friend of mine) in her upcoming performance with her trio. I had been to Le Rivage before and knew that the food was great and I was looking forward to hearing Mavis and her trio perform.

What I love about Le Rivage is it has a cozy, romantic French country atmosphere where traditional French cuisine is expertly prepared for the diner’s pleasure. At Le Rivage you can can dine indoors or outdoors(weather permitting)and the restaurant also has private parties rooms which are also available.

So Restaurant Row starting at West 46th Street and 7th Avenue is a very crowded block, with lots of traffic and it was tough to get a picture of the front of the restaurant but here is the best I could get with that very constant traffic!

There is an outdoor area weather permitting and here is a peak inside of that outside area.

Here is the inside bar area…

Here is the lovely, very French, very romantic dining area…

So what did I decide to order?

Well, it was a Pre-Theatre, Prixe Fixed dinner and the price was $70. First came the lovely bread choice.

Then I ordered The Endive Salade with Roquefort, Bacon, Toasted Almonds and Garlic Dressing(Of courseLol) on the side.

Then I ordered the Seared North Atlantic Salmon with crisped skin and Mustard Sauce Dijonaise.

Then came the dessert, Yeah! I chose the Tarte Maison which was shown on the menu as their Daily Homemade Tart. And it was grrrreat.

And oh yes, I needed that cup of coffee and it was great.

Here’s Mavis Pan, the most delightful and talented piano player and singer. Mavis sang all of her song choices in French except one in Chinese. Her choice of songs included C’est Si Bon, April in Paris, A La Tour Effle, It Might as Well Be Spring and The Girl from The South Sea in Chinese and the list in French goes on! Mavis was great and perfect in this setting.

Here is her trio. There was Mark Wade on Bass and Geoff Burke on Sax.

So if you’re looking for a restaurant before going to the theatre then I definitely encourage you to check out Le Rivage. It was an absolutely delightful evening!
