The other evening I felt really uplifted by attending NY Common’s Pantry Fill the Bag 2024 fundraiser. New York Common Pantry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that reduces New York City hunger and promotes self-respect, health and the independence of those in need. This heart felt event took place at The Zeigfeld Ballroom which is located at 14` West 54th Street and the room was packed with supporters.
Now, New York Common Pantry has set as its goal the reduction of hunger and food insecurity through a group of programs that serve to establish long-term independence for the person in need. The organization sees the individual that person as a “whole” person and therefore their support starts with great food provision. This happens through their fresh food pantry packages that are distributed in Choice Pantry in addition to their nutritious, balanced breakfasts and dinners found in The Hot Meals Program. Seniors over 60 are also additionally provided for in Nourish, their senior supplement program. As if that weren’t enough, NY Common Pantry also provides case management services through the help of Help 365, which enables visitors to gain access to resources and Project Dignity which connects homeless visitors to resources. The last part to their amazing services is Live Healthy! Live Healthy! teaches children and adults about the necessity of a nutritional diet as well as active living. Indeed, the whole is addressed!
At this inspiring fundraiser, Pimco was honored as The Distinguished Partner Award and Andy Dsida, was honored as The Estee Lauder Companies Distinguished Volunteer Award. The Master of Ceremonies of this fundraiser was Willie Geist, who is the Host of NBC News’ Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist and Co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
Now, here are some photos from the event.
