I had been to Africa twice before but a friend of mine wanted to go on Safari and so I decided to return. This time we went with Gate 1 Travel on a trip named 11 Day Kenya & Tanzania with Serengeti: A Safari Journey. The trip was absolutely epic and I completely recommend it to anyone who has been thinking of taking a safari in Africa. I will be posting several articles in the Travel tab of this trip but this post will start you at the beginning through the journey to Lake Nakuru National Park and the game drives there.

So let’s begin:

I flew Lufthansa and left from JFK. I got to Frankfurt and after a 3 hour layover I took the second leg of the flight to Nairobi where I was met by a Gate 1 Agent.

We were driven to the Sankara Nairobi, Autograph Collection Hotel and I was so very tired that I just went straight to sleep knowing that my girlfriend who was flying into Cyprus would be meeting me in the morning for a Gate 1 group meeting.

Here is my girlfriend, Elisabeth and I feeling very elated after just coming out of our morning orientation and getting ready to head off to the Lake Nakuru National Park.

So after our group meeting we headed out for Lake Nakuru National Park and arrived at the lodge in time for lunch. After lunch we went on a game drive and then returned to the lodge for a further orientation with our Tour Manager, David who was fantastic followed by dinner.
