The other evening I signed up online at The ArtsClub at 311 East 3rd Street to take a studio session on how to create a vision board.
Straight from their website,
“ArtsClub brings people together to learn about, discuss and create artwork. Our events are designed to harness the power of art to inspire new ideas, conversations and connections. Founded in 2018, ArtsClub now has studios in NY and DC and hosts hundreds of events every year. No experience is necessary to enjoy ArtsClub events — only a desire to express yourself and get to know others through the process of discussing and creating artwork.”
Well, I was so ready to create a Vision Board. I had made one last year and I found that it really helped me stay focused in working towards my goals and I wanted to make a new one for the coming year.
So what is a vision board?
A vision board is simply a collection of images that represent a person’s goals, dreams and aspirations. It’s a visual reminder for daily motivation. Vision boards looks like collages. All you need is a piece of construction paper, a sheet of oaktag or a framed picture board and you’re set to go. With that you can use photographs, quotations or pictures from magazine or any other creative materials that you have around like stickers and/or glitter.
For me personally, my vision board is a place to visualize and/or rest my eyes when I want to motivate myself to keep moving forward despite any challenges that I may find myself facing.
So here are some images from the session!

I hope that I have peaked your curiosity and you take on the adventure either at home or the ArtsClub. You won’t regret it. It’s a very comforting process and investment of time and emotional energy.
