My last adventure in Japan that I wanted to post about was Kyoto’s Kimono and Tea Ceremony.

We arrived at The Tea House and were then ushered across the street to a small type of store that had a dressing room with about 10 assistants, each one assigned to help us dress in traditional Japanese Kimono style.

We weren’t allowed to take any photos in the venue but here I am changing from Western clothes to my Kimono of choice.

Then we crossed the street with our Japanese slippers and were led into the Tea Ceremony Room.

There our hostess started us off we a lovely meditation and explained all the symbols in the tea ceremony and then we proceeded to make Matcha Tea.

And then into the lovely garden to complete a wonderful experience only to cross the street again and break the fantasy by changing back into our western clothes!

I totally recommend this experience if you’re in Kyoto! It won’t disappoint!
