The other day I met my girlfriend, her husband and her little boy downtown at The Loy Lou Space which is located at 101 Lafayette Street.

I took the R train to Canal Street and started to walk.

Loy Luo is a New York based artist. She received her Master’s Degree from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and also taught art at the Beijing Institute of Science and Technology Management. Luo’s focus has always been painting and sculpture. She shared with me is that her deepest wish is that people find comfort in her art to help them manage their deepest personal struggles. She is is a concept and performance artist, a poet, a vocalist, and a writer. Her book Suspending

was published in 2015 and was received with great praise.

Loy has had her art exhibited and/or collected in China, Italy, France, the United States, Germany, Belgium, Sweden as well as Australia.

Loy is a lovely person and offered us tea while performing a very special tea ceremony in the preparation and the passing out of the tea cups. It was fascinating to watch.
