The Cutting Room

The other evening at 6pm, I met my friend at The Cutting Room which is located on East 32nd Street between Park and Madison Avenue. The Cutting Room has a decade of history which includes some of our contemporary top performers which include John Mayer, Lady Gaga, Sting, Sheryl Crow and David Bowie just to name a few.

The Cutting Room was created by Steve Walter (Berklee Alumnus) with co-owner Chris Noth of Sex and the City, Law and Order and The Good Wife. The new Cutting Room continues in the same tradition with a fresh new take on what a rock club and lounge should look and feel like.

Their website shares, “We wanted a place where up and coming artists could get seen and established artists felt comfortable playing club gigs. We wanted a place with great sound, creative food and cocktails where the venue itself was as beautiful as the music” said Steve Walter, its present owner.

So here is the outside of The Cutting Room and the inside bar , the dining room area and the stage.

So who was headlining this evening’s performance?

It was Reza Khan Merch and his group. Reza Khan is a guitarist, composer, and producer . His website tells us that “Reza Khan stands out as a true musical citizen of the world, purposefully transcending typical genre trappings with his dynamic fusion of blend of infectious pop, jazz, soul, and world music influences.”

I can tell you that his music was both vibrant and mystical and all the musicians were fabulous. It was truly a great 90 minute show.

And yes, we ate dinner there at well. I decided to order a Southwest Chicken Salad which included grilled chipotle chicken, avocado, heirloom tomatoes, romaine and mixed greens, roasted corn, black beans, tortilla strips and queso fresco. It was a great choice!

With might I addLol, a large cup of Black Coffee!

So check out The Cutting Room’s event tab and treat yourself to a great evening out!
