Mt. Fuji

On my trip to Japan the stop after Tokoyo was Fujiyama which is best known for Mt. Fuji. Mount Fuji is one of Japan’s “Three Holy Mountains” and on June 22nd, 2013 it was added to the World Heritage List as a Cultural Site. As noted by UNESCO, “Mt. Fuji has inspired arts and poets and has been the object of pilgrimages for centuries and continues to now do so.

Unfortunately, it was a very rainy and cloudy day so that this was the best shot that I could get of Mt. Fuji(was see below) but the hotel that we stayed out was sooo dreamy and my post will basically focus on sharing that information with you.

We stayed at the Fujisan Onsen Hotel Kaneyamaen which was a very ethereal experience. From the musicians in the lobby, the attentive staff, beautiful grounds, to the most picturesque views of Mt. Fuji (despite the fogLol) this was one of the highlights of my Japan tour.

Here are some photos of the outside of the hotel.

Love this photo. Very Japanese. Ordered and Well-Regulated!

Here are some photos of the inside of the hotel.

And here are some photos of my room.

And last but not least a video(click on image below) of a Japanese Drumming Show which was the evening’s entertainment.
