New York’s Green Festival Expo Pre-Launches

With the forthcoming Green Festival Expo (www.greenfestivals.org) just around the corner taking place at Jacob Javits Convention Center from April 23rd to April 25th, 2015 a special pre-launch event was held on April 2nd, at Environment Furniture Showroom, 352 Bowery (between East 3rd and East 4th Street from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

At the event there were media, tastemakers and community and business leaders who all came together to help build momentum around The Green Festival Expo in a more intimate type of setting.

So now let’s meet 5 of the exhibitors who will be showing at The Green Festival Expo and who were exhibiting at the pre-launch as well!

Green Mountain Energy is a supply source and offers wind and solar supply.  As written in their brochure, “Making electricity creates more carbon dioxide CO 2 emissions than any other US sector and is the largest source of industrial air pollution in the US. By choosing Green Mountain you’re helping us change the way power is made by using wind, sun and water…for good.”

It sounds like a great choice to me!  www.greenmountain.com

2. Candle 79   www.candle79.com     Candle Cafe/Candle Cafe West    www.candlecafe.com

I was thrilled to meet the owner of Candle 79 and the Candle Cafe at 1307 and Candle Cafe West 2427 Broadway because I had eaten at Candle 79 at 154 E. 79th Street and the food was superb, absolutely superb.  So from left to right is Joy Pierson (owner of Cnadle 79 and the two Candle Cafes), in the center is Kimberly DeJesus who is the Service Director of Candle Cafe East and to the right is Benay Vynenb who is the General Manager of Candle 79.

You must try their food, it’s all divine!

So now let’s meet Dory Kurowski who’s the developer and owner of www.myconsciencemychoice.com.

Dory believes as she states on her business card that “When give a choice, purchase with a good conscience.”  The mission of Dory’s company is “to help the average person shop for sustainable products.”

So check it out-it’s a great idea and a great site!

Buchi   www.drinkbuchi.com

So let me introduce you to Buchi-but better yet let me share what their story is “in part” from their web site.

“Buchi is a community centered, women founded and 15% worker-owned business continuing the ancient folk tradition of brewing kombucha, a living, probiotic rich, all-natural beverage.  We started brewing kombucha so our families would have a healthy alternative to high fructose corn syrup beverages and caffeine laden energy drinks.”

So check it out-also sounds pretty interesting and healthy to me!

And last but by no means least…let me introduce you to what I think that everyone should try and that is:
