So I found myself at Kyma Restaurant which is located at 15 West 18th Street right off 5ith Avenue. From the minute that I walked into Kyma I felt that I was in Greece which I’d been to twice. Inside the modern ambiance of this restaurant are the images of the traditional Greek Taverna with the stylish island chic of the islands of Mykonos or Santorini. Kyma’s menu even guides you through the sun drenched island of Mykonos or Santorini in that they embrace the character of their very traditional dishes. Just as an aside the size and space of the restaurant truly take you to the islands. It was a wonderful feeling.
So I was there for lunch and there was a prix fixed menu for $34.95.
For an appetizer I choose Brussel Sprout Salad which was a combination of toasted almonds, dried cranberries, shallot vinaigrette and yeah shaved brussel sprouts. Yum
Then for the Main Course I ordered Chicken Skewer. The Skewer had boneless chicken breast served with tzatziki, pita bread and what they called Greek Fries which were really pretty good French Fries 🙂 . Also Yum-
And last but definitely not least was dessert and for that I chose Baklava which came with a scoop of their homemade Pistachio Ice-Cream. Dessert was great…
So all in all I had a very delightful lunch. The ambiance had me in a Greek Taverna on Mykonos or Santorini and the food was really good.
I completely recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area.
