Phase 3 and Long Beach, New York

I had to get out of the city.  It had been almost 4 months in lock down and I needed a change of scenery to put it mildly.  So a friend and I decided to take the Long Island Railroad to Long Beach, New York.  Long Beach is a city in Nassau County, New York and the city is surrounded by Reynolds Channel to the north, east and west, and the Atlantic Ocean to the south.

So here I am at the Long Beach Station on the LIRR.

So let’s visit the boardwalk and the beach which is a few short block from the train station.

And here are the folks on the beach…

You can see that I was not about to hit the sand.  Just being on the boardwalk was joy enough.  The ocean breeze, not looking at grey buildings was just fantabulous!!!

And then my girlfriend and I went to the restaurant Ginos which is at 16 West Park Avenue, the main shopping street in Long Beach.  It’s a family style Italian restaurant and the food was fabulous.

I had a small Market Salad that came with candied walnuts, dried cranberries, crumbled goat cheese, red onions, mixed greens, balsamic vinaigrette and I added chicken as the topper.  It was so fresh and so good!!  Just really enjoyable…

So I see myself returning at least once more to Long Beach.  It was just what the doctor ordered 🙂
