So I was very fortunate when this gal that I know that lives in the city who happens to own a car suggested that we drive to Asbury Park, New Jersey and walk on the boardwalk and go out for dinner.
Well, needless to say I was ecstatic. Anything to get out of the city is a wonderful idea to me now. So what I learned is that Asbury Park is in Monmouth County, New Jersey, is about an hour and 15 minutes from the city and is ranked the sixth beach in New Jersey The city is bordered by three bodies of water; in the north by Deal Lake, in the south by Wesley Lake, and on the east by the Atlantic Ocean.
So there are actually 3 areas that comprise Asbury Park and they have 3 visually designated beach areas that you can access from the one large board walk.
So we started off walking to Ocean Grove and then Bradley Beach. Both were extremely lovely communities. Then we walked to the other end of the boardwalk and on the Asbury Park side. I didn’t like that as much but the contrast served to remind me that everyone has a place to hang out for some summer fun and who wouldn’t like to check out a Fried Oreo 🙂
