Finally, a cold but nice Manhattan evening out and I joined a friend at Tony’s Di Napoli. Tony’s is a bustling Italian eatery with large, sharable portions of Italian comfort food in a very lively setting. The restaurant is located at 1081 3rd Avenue between 63rd and 64th Street but they also have a second restaurant (in the theatre district) which is located at 147 W. 43rd Street.
So here is the outside of the restaurant.

The restaurant is pretty large but they have two rather small bar areas.

As I mentioned the restaurant has a very comfortable, friendly atmosphere.
Almost to the point, where you feel like you’re in your friend’s living room and you can just be yourself, have some Italian food and just hang out.

So what did I decide to order?
I needed to keep it simple because I’d had a big brunch so I split a House Salad with a Vinaigrette Dressing and it was very fresh and very good.

And by the way, I forgot to mention the bread. You know how sometimes you eat out and the bread is just ok. Well, I must tell you that yes, the bread was on the table but it was warm, crispy and great and that was fun!!

For my entree I decided to have Tony’s Chicken. Tony’s Chicken is usually deep fried but I had them grill it instead and it came with delicious tomatoes (prepared in a bruschetta like manner) to put on top. It was really good and I got to take home at least half.

I also decided to order a side of Roasted Potatoes.

So I definitely recommend Tony’s Di Napoli for a very comfortable, lay-back, chilled restaurant experience and for really good Italian food that is very generously plated.
Enjoy!
