I had booked a 14 day cruise on the Norwegian Star and it’s itinerary began in Buenos Aires where I boarded the ship. From there it was Montevideo, Uruguay, Puerto Madryn, Argentina, Punta Arenas, Chile, Ushuaia, Argentina, several days cruising the bays of Antarctica, then Stanley, Falkland Islands.
I arrived in Buenos Aires two days before boarding so I had the opportunity to do some sightseeing and that was fun.
So here are some photos of the city and any photo that is not labeled is posted just to give you the vibe.
The first two images are the amazing hotel that I stayed in which was The Tango de Mayo Hotel. It was designed to detail as a Vintage Tango Hotel and even the decals in the bathroom reflected that.

Below is the famous Cafe Tortoni that everyone waits online to get in. It was established in 1858 and world known.

Below the Planetario Galileo Galilei. Yikes, we didn’t buy a ticket online and it was all sold out. That will teach you!!!

We bought a tour of the fabulous Teatro Colon, a world famous opera house. It was fabulous!

Below are some photos from the very famous area known as the La Boca-Caminito. It’s were all the creatives and artists hang out!

And last but not least on the last day of the cruise when it returned to Buenos Aires I had a late night flight so I booked an additional ncl tour where we visited a colonial Spanish ranch and watched the guachos and the dancers and felt as if I was totally transported to another era. It was great.

Oops, I forgot to add that on one of the evenings prior to the cruise I went to a very fun Tango lesson, show and dinner.
So here are some photos and a video from that.
Enjoy!
