An amazing extravaganza for a Fashion Week Charity Show benefiting American Heart Association was presented by CDCD Productions. This great two hour took place at DCTV87 Lafayette Street. There was a time before the American Heart Association was established that people with heart disease were thought to have no positive outcomes. But it was a handful of pioneering physicians and social workers who believed that it didn’t have to be that way. They took it upon themselves to do studies to learn more about heart disease and it’s many negative effects. It was in June 10th, 1924, practically 100 years ago that these physicians and social workers met in Chicago to establish the American Heart Association. They believed that research was the best way to establish better treatment, considerable prevention and eventually a cure.
It was in 1948, that the association transformed itself from a professional scientific society to a nationwide voluntary health organization composed of science and lay volunteers and supported by professional staff outside the medical community. Since then the American Heart Association has turned into an organization of more than 35 million volunteers and supporters who are all dedicated to improving heart health for the best healthy lifestyle possible for the longest life possible for each and every one of us.
