Scholastic Hosts Children’s Media Association Holiday Party

The other evening I attended the 20th Anniversary holiday party of The Children’s Media Association hosted by Scholastic at 130 Mercer Street.

As a former educator who read so many of the books published by Scholastic it was a very nostalgic, at home feeling.

Here is the inside of the building.

The Children’s Media Association is a non-profit completely run by volunteers “to educate and connect industry professionals, and to thereby foster the development of excellent children’s media.”

It was a very inspiring evening which afforded me the opportunity to speak to many folks in the children’s media industry and I was struck by their hope, enthusiasm and optimism for the future of children’s media.

Here are some photos from the event.

However, aside from the lovely folks that I spoke to at the event, the characters on the walls inside the Scholastic building were like old friends that I was lucky enough to run into again.
