The other evening I covered The Red Carpet Hospitality Gala which took place at The InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel which is located at 111 East 48th Street. The event had many luminaires and executives from the hotel and tourism industry. In addition, there were guests from Broadway and non-profit industries as well.
This annual dinner was hosted by by Hotel Association of New City Foundation otherwise known as the HANYC Foundation. The HANYC Foundation provides scholarships for students who are interested in pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree, for human trafficking training for HANYC members and their staff as well as hotels for individuals and families to stay in while going through unanticipated hardship and crisis.
During this annual fundraiser, The HANYC Foundation will honor Susan Santiago, President, United States and Canada, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, with its Hospitality Award and Richard R. Buery, Jr., Chief Executive Officer, Robin Hood, with its Humanitarian Award.
Additional remarks will be made by Jonathan M. Tisch, Executive Chairman, Loews Hotels & Co.
The evening offered a cocktail reception, dinner, musical performance, and an award presentation.
Here are some photos from the event and some of folks that I spoke to that support this great foundation.

I spoke with Jennifer Manson and John Lewis who work at Club Wyndham who came to support the Foundation.

I also met Steve Batta who is the Group President of the East Coast with Highgate and a volunteer who sits on the board of the Hotel Association.
Then I had the privilege of speaking to Heather Davis who is the President of the Board of HANYC in addition to being Vice President of Operation for Aimbridge which is a hospitality company. She shared that it was her work in the hospitality industry that gave her the opportunity to volunteer for the Foundation for which she cares deeply about.

Then I had the good fortune to speak to Paul Yelle who is the Senior Director of FirstOnsite.com

This gracious gentleman explained to me that his company is the first on site when a hotel or any business has an emergency. That it’s his company that has the resources and the man power to get things up and once again running smoothly.
