The other day I met my girlfriend at a very friendly, comfortable Italian restaurant at 73 West 11th Street. Gene’s is located in Greenwich Village on a beautiful tree-lined block that makes you feel that you aren’t even in the city.

Gene’s has been around since 1919 and it’s prices are more than fair for a New York City Restaurant. My main half a chicken dish came with a baked potato and mixed vegetables and was $27.95 and all there other entres were also very fairly priced as well.

So what did I decide to order?

I wasn’t that hungry so I decided to order Broiled Half a Chicken Foscana(they tell you that it will take a half an hour-which it did) and that came with a Baked Potato and mixed vegetables. All very tasty and very good.
