The Smith

The other day I was on the way to The Smith Restaurant at 55 Third Avenue to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. But then I texted my girlfriend and told her that instead of meeting me for lunch at The Smith that I had made two appointments at The Fragrance Shop New York located at 66 East 4th Street for before lunch because I had an additional birthday special surprise for her!

Here is where she met me at 12:00pm.

Fragrance Shop New York

We were both going to make our own perfume scents!

Here are some of the steps of the process:

First we needed to smell all the possible scents and write them down. We used the coffee beans in the second picture to help us clear our noses when the smelling got a bit much!

Then after we did all of our “smelling” we gave our list to the gal behind the calendar and she blended the scent for us based on the chart below “to create a perfume” and then we then had to smell it on white narrow strips and approve it.

Then the scents were mixed in real physical liquid form and the perfume was created. I named mine Sora by Sora and my girlfriend named hers Sassy Sophisticate by Sonia.

It was a great experience and there were all prices bottles. I recommend it to anyone who wants an interesting experience and/or as a birthday gift experience.

Now it’s off to The Smith.

So what did I decide to order”

I kept it as simple as possible because I wasn’t that hungry.

So I ordered the Grilled Chicken with barratta, tomato jam, basil aioli and toasted ciabatta. Of course,Lol I asked for everything on the side!

The meal was fabulous and I totally recommend lunch or dinner at The Smith!

All in all it was an absolutely great day!
