I’m lucky enough to have an Egyptian girlfriend who insisted that I get to know her country and planned the entire trip to both Egypt and then Dubai.
I need to preface this post by saying that this trip was more of an adventure than a tour and that we moved very quickly once our arrival in Cairo.
So because of the fast pace of our trip here are some photos from Cairo that I hope create an interest in your visiting Cairo as well!

Then after we arrived in Cairo we went to her father’s apartment on the Nile. Unfortunately, he had cats and my immediate reaction had me stay at their cousin’s house which was about an hour away.
Then after all the unpacking and settling in, we immediately went to The Museum of Egyptian Civilization.

Completely fascinating.
Then towards the evening we went to Old Cairo, walked the market and had a very fun experience at Elfishay, a coffee shop that is considered one of the oldest coffee houses in the world. What a fun experience.

Then the next day we went to see the Pyramids with our luggage in the taxi because at the end of the day we were going to take a train to Aswan which was a whole nother experience in another post.
But here are some photos from a visit to The Pyramids.
