The other very freezing evening (can you feel the cold in the image!), I met my girlfriend at Villa Berulia which is located at 107 E. 34th Street. I kept asking myself why I left the house in such brutal weather but forged on and got to the restaurant on time.

What I found out about Villa Berulia is that it has served generations of diners for over 44 years. That with the support of their local customers and their tourists and out of town guests that the restaurant has been faithfully been serving Dalmatian and Northern Italian cuisine to many a satisfied customer.
So what is the secret of their longevity? As their website shares, “It’s their great food and great service.” As a family owned business they pride themselves of taking care of each and every diner!
I can honestly say that as a first time customer to the restaurant, that I felt very warm and welcomed and was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed that welcoming ambiance very much.
As far as what’s on their menu, they have many homemade pastas, wild game dishes, classics and Croatian delicacies, such as seafood Buzara (traditional Dalmatian stew with sea bass, shrimp and clams) and Pasticade (traditional meat with gnocchi). Seasonal items are also available throughout the years which include soft shell crabs and lager-infused roast pork. They also have gluten-free and vegetarian options as well as an extensive wine list.
So below are some photos of the bar area and the dining area.

What did I decide to order?
I just decided to keep it simple so I ordered Chicken Paillard.
But first came the wonderful bread and Italian Bread Sticks.

Next came The Chicken Paillard which was done very nicely.

But I will admit that the best part of the service was when without my girlfriend telling them (I saw the billLol) they brought out this amazing slice of Italian cheesecake and sang Happy Birthday to me.

So if you’re in the Murray Hill section of the city and want a warm and friendly welcome with lovely food then make a reservation at Villa Berulia and enjoy the experience.
