Limassol’s Old Port

On a recent trip to Limassol, Cyprus I had the opportunity to wander around the Old Port.

What I learned is that Limassol is the largest port in Cyprus after the one in Larnaca which is about 37 miles away. That the Cruise ships dock at the New Port Limassol and that the port is is operated by DP World Limassol and is located about 2.5 miles or a 10 minute drive southwest of the city center.

I also learned that the modern 7,000 sqm terminal has two quays, the North Quay(480 m) and the East Quay (380 m) and that both are able to accommodate the world’s largest cruise ships.

Now Inside the terminal you’ll find a tourist information desk, free Wi-Fi, duty-free shops, a café and restaurant, ATMs, currency exchange, and parking for buses and shuttles. There is also a free shuttle bus which usually runs between the port and the city center. There is also a stop for Bus #30 right outside the terminal which also goes directly into town.

Here are some images of the area. Enjoy!

So if you’re wondering about Island Vibe at the Old Port, my next three photos pretty much say it all!!
