Trying Bee Keeping!

While I was in Queenstown, New Zealand the zipper on my luggage ripped. It was a horrible feeling and I knew that I needed a new piece of luggage.

But here I was in Queenstown, New Zealand where after asking found out that there were no luggage stores in town. However, the desk clerk told me that there was a K-Mart and a Warehouse in the next town called Frankton, New Zealand. So the next morning, two tourmates and myself Ubered it to Frankton and headed for the Wearhouse. There I was so lucky to a new piece of luggage which was the right size. To say that I was grateful would be an understatement. Then after I bought the luggage we started walking around this quaint mountain town and we wandered into what you might call an upscale pharmacy. After finding new Lanolin skin creams from sheep (a well known product from New Zealand) the owner said that for lunch we should uber to a place called Country Lane at 26 Hansen Road and that we’d find a cute lunch place. We decided to be adventurous and to do that and it unexpectedly led us to an amazing once in a lifetime experience.

We wandered into this restaurant called BuzzStop which not only served food but also did Honey Tastings, Honey Spinning and Bee-Keeping Tours.

We ordered our food and then decided to sign up for a Bee-Keeping experience. The experience included suiting up, hold a bee tray, spinning honey and then having our face on the label of a jar of honey that we just spinned. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to try this crazy adventure and so here are some photos from the experience. Yes, I was terrified but in part it’s just a risk that I wanted to take and decided to think of all my bees as friends. I just wanted to see if I could do it. It wasLol one of those days.
