Concern Worldwide Honors Christoph Mueller

Terri Guillemets said, “The birds of hope are everywhere, listen to them sing.”  Well one of those birds of hope is Christoph Mueller, Chief Executive Officer of Aer Lingus.  So that on December 9, 2013 Mr. Mueller will be honored at The Seed of Hope Award Dinner dinner hosted by Concern Worldwide U.S. (www.concernusa.org) at The Waldorf Astoria, 301 Park Avenue, New York, NY.

Concern Worldwide U.S. is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to tackling poverty and suffering in the world’s poorest countries. The organization (www.concernusa.org) works to target poverty as it relates to food, safe drinking water as well as sanitation.

Now, Mr. Mueller, Concern’s 2013 award honoree is recognized as one of the most effective and innovative chief executives in the global aviation industry as well as a committed corporate citizen who recognizes that true leadership means driving change. 

In his effort to manifest his commitment to driving change, Mr. Mueller encouraged and supported Aer Lingus cabin crews’ in-flight fundraising campaign in support of UNICEF, one of Concern’s field partners, raising over 16 million dollars to date.  In addition to those fundraising efforts, in 2010 The Aer Lingus team was one of the first airlines to lend its support to humanitarian efforts helping those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. In addition, also during Christoph’s time at Aer Lingus, the airline has offered its support to many charitable organizations inside Ireland such as Special Olympics Ireland, The Children’s Medical and Research Foundation, Difference Days and many, many more.
