The American Friends of Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer will be celebrating 65 years of achievements at The Sheba Medical Center. So that on January 14, 2014, in honor of this great occasion, American Friends of The Sheba Medical Center will be having its 2014 benefit dinner. The dinner will be held at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers, 23rd Street and West Side Highway, New York, NY. Cocktails and buffet dinner are at 6:30 and the awards and entertainment begin at 8:00
Now The Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer was founded in 1948 by David Ben-Gurion to rehabilitate wounded IDF heroes. Sheba is now recognized as Israel’s most distinguished medical facility. It stands as the pride of Israel.
It is now the mission of The American Friends of Sheba Medical Center to strengthen this wonderful medical institution and to provide it with the necessary funds to expand both its infrastructure and research.
Now some of the recent achievements of The Sheba Medical Center are:
l. The National Burn Center which opens in January 2014.
2. The expanded state of the art, Rehabilitation Center to treat wounded IDF soldiers and civilians which opened in July 2013.
3. The Pediatric Congenital Heart Center which opened in 2013.
4. The Womens Hospital Underground Maternity Center which was completed in March 2013.
The American Friends of Sheba Medical Center is holding this important gala to presently benefit the critical need to construct twelve fortified, bomb resistant Emergency Operating Theaters which will serve as part of The New Emergency Complex at the Medical Center.
