I was invited to attend an AAFSHP Dinner Conference at the restaurant, L’Adresse which is located at 1184 Broadway between 28th and 29th Street. AAFSHP which was established in 1979 stands for American Association of French Speaking Health Professionals.
This terrific organization established a social forum which encourages the exchange of ideas between French speaking health professionals, promotes and sponsors scientific seminars and publishes a directory of French speaking specialists.
Do I speak French?
Truth be told, I studied French for 8 years but I’d call it more survival French more than anything else. However, I was committed to challenging myself to practice my French and listen to a presentation by Alessandra Hirsch, MS MD (in French) who is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital and who is also in Private Practice. Dr. Hirsch talked about the history of abortion, the needed medical care of pregnant women of all races and the challenges that women face today given America’s political climate on the subject of abortion.
How did I do?
Not bad. I understood about half of what she presented but of course the pictures on the slides really helped! No, I wouldn’t have passed a test but at least I took the challenge and showed up!!
Now L’Adresse is really a great restaurant.

When I googled their website, it said,
“L’Adresse Nomad provides a cool and comfortable atmosphere and offers all-day dining for locals and visitors alike, no matter the occasion. The well-rounded menu offers something for everyone at the table, from craveable burgers to elegant seafood dishes, all complemented by L’Adresse’s innovative bar program specializing in benchmark classics and signature offerings inspired thereof.
L’Adresse Nomad pulls inspiration from European culinary traditions and modern American techniques, fusing ingredients and flavor profiles from both food cultures into a dynamic menu of approachable and thoughtfully crafted dishes.”
Now here is an image of the bar and dining area.

And L’Adresse did not disappoint!
First there was a glass of sparkling Prosecco!

For my main dish, I chose to have Tandoori Chicken which was plated with Moroccan couscous, chimichurri sauce, tomato and cilantro.

It was fabulous. The chicken was just divinely marinated and the couscous was great!
For dessert, I chose Smetannyk V which was a layered sour cream cake.
It was simply divine, It was well executed, layered impeccably and I’ll be back for another slice in the not so distant future!

So I completely recommend L’Adresse. The food was amazing and I’ll be back!
