Concern Worldwide U.S. (www.concernusa.org) is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to tackling poverty and suffering in the world’s poorest countries.  Concern Worldwide (www.concernusa.org) works to target poverty as it relates to the provision of food, safe drinking water as well as sanitation and sanitary living conditions.

Now The Women of Concern Luncheon is a celebration of the lives of women and girls across the globe.  Each year at this special event, Concern is also proud to acknowledge the wonderful achievements of specific exceptional women for their extraordinary efforts to both alleviate human suffering and of focusing public attention on global humanitarian efforts.

Now this important celebratory event will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11:30 at The Pierre Hotel, 2 East 61st Street, NY.  You can register for this luncheon at 11:30 and the actual event begins at noon.

And so who are the women who will be receiving The 2014 Women of Concern Leadership Awards?

Well, the first recipient of The 2014 Women of Concern Leadership Award will be given to Siobhan Walsh.

In 1995, Ms. Walsh was appointed as one of a small team selected by Concern’s CEO to set up Concern Worldwide US, a “star-up” organization, with headquarters in New York.  For the next 18 years Ms. Walsh gave her heart and soul to building Concern into the admired and respected organization that it is today.  It’s as a result of her work and the hard work of the Concern team and Board that Concern Worldwide is today so widely received and respected.  Ms. Walsh served as Executive Director until 2013 and is now being honored for her exemplary service and dedication to Concern.

Now the send recipient of The 2014 Women of Concern Humanitarian Award is actress Toni Collette.  Ms.Collette is an Emmy and Golden Globe award winner who lent her celebrity status to Concern Worldwide in 2012.  At this time, Ms. Collette led a campaign to fight malnutrition and hunger and in 2014 she became the first Global Ambassador for Concern Worldwide to bring attention to the unacceptable conditions of those living in extreme poverty, and for those who live in emergency and conflicted geographical areas.

So become part of this organization by attending this luncheon and helping those less fortunate.
