The Imperial Court of New York, the state’s most regal organization which serves the LGBT community and those folks living with HIV/AIDS since 1986 will be having it’s 31st annual Night of a Thousand Gowns fundraiser. This year’s event entitled Casino Royale will be held on March 11, 2017 at the Marriott Marquis, 1535 Broadway, New York.
Now The Imperial Court of New York is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization that since 1986 has donated over a million dollars to gay, lesbian and transgender communities in the tri-state New York City region. What sets The Imperial Court of New York apart as an organization is that beside their big hair, bigger jewels and over-the-top regal attire, they have a very unique attitude. You see, while they’re having fun dressed in all of their fineries they’re also opening their hearts and giving of their time to help raise money for all of their beneficiaries.
So this year’s event will benefit the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Defense and their two special guests and awardees are Dustin Lance Black, screenwriter, director, film producer and LGBT rights activist and Oscar and Emmy-nominated actor Sir Ian McKellen.
