“What is art but a way of seeing? said Thomas Berger. Now In agreement with Thomas Berger is The Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation which was founded by Russell, Canny and Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons. The Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) that is dedicated to giving inner city kids larger exposure to the arts and also offers exhibition opportunities to underrepresented artists and artists of color.
So that on July 16th, 2017 this great organization is having it’s 18th Annual Art for Life Gala which will be held at Fairview Farms, Bridgehampton, New York.
So what makes a very famous entrepreneur such as Russell Simmons commit himself and his resources to Art for Life? In reviewing his biography it’s noted that Mr. Simmons was born in New York in 1957 and began promoting musicians living in New York City in his early 20’s. He created Def Jam Records and signed The Beastie Boys, LL Cool J in addition to Run-D.M.C. He then sold his stake in Def Jam for about 100 million dollars. So Mr. Simmons is all about giving back and in addition to Art for Life he’s also help found Hip Hop Summit Action Network and The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding.
So if you love the arts, believe in the future of our kids and believe that everyone deserves the same opportunity to expand their way of “seeing” and that everyone has the same right to “shine” then click HERE and buy a ticket today!
