Laduree and The French Macaron

The other day I was uptown and decided to check out a French bakery and small cafe named Laduree. I love macarons and this place was supposed to have the best.

Laduree is located at 864 Madison Avenue( between 71st and 72nd Street) and  is known as a French luxury bakery and sweets maker house which first opened in Paris in 1862.   They are the world’s best-known premier sellers of the double-decker macaron.and flagship store is presently on The Champs-Elysees.

So here is Laduree on Madison:

And here’s what happens when you step inside this little part of Paris on Madison…Yeah!

And so I sat at one of these little tables and thought about what to have.

I decided to try 2 Chicken Cesar sandwiches. Each one was $2.50 and was very small as you’ll soon see which I knew before I ordered 2Lol since I first asked the waitress what the size was.  And with that I chose a plate of 3 macarons (pistachio, bubble gum and salted caramel) with black coffee.

So here is how they brought all of it to the table. I love the detail of the French and the elegance in what they do.

So I must admit that the sandwich-like experiences were very small and hardly, hardly filled with chicken but none the less it was a first time experience and now I’d only go there for dessert.Lol

The macarons however were individually amazing.  The Salted Caramel was Amazing.  The tastes and the texture of the macaron were just perfect.

The Bubble Gum Macaron was so close the experience of having real bubble gum that I was really in awe of the match and it was so much fun to have.

And last but not least The Pistachio Macaron was a delightful adventure into Pistachio Wonderland.  Need I say more. 🙂

But what I really love about how The French do things is for example how they bring out the coffee. The L on the coffee pot in silver and the small piece of chocolate on the right of the saucer.  It just made the whole experience very “French!”

So if you’re uptown and want to leave the city and go to Paris for a while then check out Laduree and find that Parisien  “escape :)” for the day!!!
