Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania

So it was time to head out of Dodge and I took a day bus trip to Hellertown, Pennsylvania and Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.

In Hellertown, Pennsylvania we visitied the Lost River Caverns, nature’s underground wonderland. There was a guided walking tour but I must admit that I’m not a cave fan and so I didn’t take the tour but it was great waiting for the group outside the cavern. Sooo quiet, and green with water streaming. Loved it.

Then we went to the town of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. It was there where we had some time to explore this lovely and quaint town and then took a comfortable ride in vintage coaches built in 1917 which was pulled by diesel engines. The narrated round-trip took us over the Lehigh River, through Glen Onoko and into the Lehigh Gorge State Park. The scenery was great and being in nature was great!!!!

Here are some photos from this lovely town.

And here are some photos from the vintage train ride.

So if you want a magical day full of exploration and discovery, then I definitely recommend in particular the town of Jim Thorpe. Really cool!
