Fine Crust Pizza at Posto

I love my neighborhood. It has so many great places to eat. But I just found another gem at 18th Street and 2nd Avenue called Posto Thin Crust Pizza.

Posto is a no frills kind of place and was founded by Antonio Gomez with friend and business partner Jonathan Tweedy. The restaurant quickly grew a cult-like following and it became renowned for it’s ultra-thin crust pizza. Posto can be thought of as a very relaxed, neighborhood establishment with a very high-quality menu which includes pizzas, pastas, specialty sandwiches, salads and desserts along with a carefully curated beer and wine list. Their mission is to offer food that is always fresh, high-quality, consistent and affordable and yes it does check all those boxes!!!

So here is the front of the restaurant and the inside area…

So what did I order?

I decided to order a Kale and Manchego Salad and add some chicken. I did googleLol Manchego cheese since I had no clue what it was. It turns out that Manchego cheese is produced in the La Mancha region of Spain, which is also home to Don Quixote and is made from pasteurized sheep’s milk. I had them put it on the side with the dressing and was pleasantly surprised. It’s kind of tastes like parmesan without the tang.

It was really great…

My friend ordered a Cesar Salad and a plain crusted thin pizza.

She liked the salad and I had a slice of the pizza and it was very nice. It was a new experience to have such a fine crust but actually it tasted quite good.

So if you’re in The Gramercy Park Area and want a great salad or a finely crusted pizza definitely check out Posto, it was all fresh, tasty and affordable.
