This past Saturday I attended New York City’s Women’s Travel Fest (www.womenstravelfest.com).
It was held at Angel Oresanz Foundation for Contemporary Art, 172 Norfolk Street from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and it was fantabulous.
The day’s event was extremely well organized with more than 300 attendees and some of the guest speakers who shared their travel resources with great enthusiasm where Sonia Gil, an entrepreneur, language geek and passionate traveler, Courtney Scott, Senior Editor at Travelocity, Jaqui Gifford, Senior Editor at Travel + Leisure and let’s not forget Sandra Brown, a world traveler and host of such shows as Great Hotels, Passport to Europe, Great Weekends and many, many more.
Now the event also had speakers from Expedia, India travel experts, travel and volunteerism experts and we also heard from Sarah Shourd, the women who had been jailed in Iran (most of the time in solitary confinement-as a result of hiking with her boyfriend and friend) and her story and how she got through this extreme type of personal adversity left me both inspired and in awe.
Now another part of the event was having the opportunity to meet different travel vendors and that was also so great!
Having the choice to meet the faces behind these travel companies was a heck of a lot better than being online and landing on their web site.LOL!
So below are some photos of the exhibitors:
