It’s time to celebrate The Chinese New Year and 2019 is the Year of The Pig. It’s also known as Yuan Tan which means the new beginning or let bygones be bygones. In addition The Year of The Pig also represents luck, good fortune, wealth and general prosperity.
So to help celebrate the holiday I joined a few friends at The Peking Duck House which is located at 236 E. 53rd Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue closer to 2nd.
So there were 7 of us and we each started off with a Beef Dumpling and a Spring Roll.
Then we each got a Peking Duck Roll.
Then we ordered 5 main dishes to share.
Yeah! This is what the table looked like.
We ordered
l. #6 Beef with Broccoli
2. #9 Sliced Pork, Chicken and Shrimp with Green Scallions.
3. #10 Sauteed Prawns with Ginger and Scallions
4. #13 Scallops with Garlic Sauce
5. #16 Crispy String Beans with Minced Pork.
So after filling up my plate with a little of this and a little of that. 🙂 Here’s what it looked like.
As far as how the food tasted, I thought that the duck could have been more crispy but the 5 individual dishes were very good especially the Crispy String Beans with Minced Pork.
