The Wilson NYC Restaurant Rocks

The other evening for Mother’s Day I met a girlfriend at a new restaurant The Wilson which is located at 132 West 27th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was excellent. The outside part was dog friendly and pretty spacious at that. So yes, you could sit in the atrium or inside and the prices were fair-minded for the location and the food.

Here is the outside atrium part and the inside bar area.

So all in all The Wilson serves classic interpretations of high-quality northeastern types of food.

What did I decide to order?

I decided to order the Brick Chicken with lemon and cherry peppers. My girlfriend and I decided to split the dish because our absolutely lovely waitress said that it was a really big portion.

Well, it was fabulous. I mean that I have eaten chicken dishes in a “lot” of restaurants but this could have been the best prepared chicken that I have ever eaten. The flavoring of the lemon and the cherry peppers were divine and the actual chicken was “grrreat.”

Now the chicken didn’t come with anything so my girlfriend and I ordered 2 sides. We ordered whipped mashed potatoes with roasted garlic and broccolini with garlic and evoo (extra virgin olive oil).

These two sides were of the highest quality and really excellent. Really excellent.

And yes, I decided to have dessert because one of the items was just sounding too good not to try and that was the Pistachio Olive Cake with orange marmalade and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream.

Oh my goodness, it was sooo good like nothing I have ever eaten before! But I couldn’t eat the whole thing. So had a quarter and yes had the rest minus the ice-cream for breakfast the next morning.

So I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. It’s comfortable, easy to relax in, great service and the food is excellent.

So it has my thumbs up and give it a shot when in the area. www.eatatthewilson.com
